BSME (British Schools in the Middle East) are hosting their 37th Annual Conference from 19th – 21st March 2019 in Abu Dhabi and Furlong are delighted to be attending. The conference will be focusing on how school leaders can create places of learning that prepare both staff and students for the impact of the digital age, whether that be cognitive, technological or emotional. The programme will also offer support and guidance on better understanding of senior leaders’ ‘CEO’ roles, as well as advice on the latest announcements by the Department of Education in the UK.

A packed conference with an equally packed agenda. With various exhibitors in attendance, as well as several networking sessions, it’s going to be a lot to get through! We’ve taken three essential activities that you simply cannot miss to get the most out of the conference.

So, what do we recommend?

  1. ‘Amplifying your Marketing Strategy: Disruption, Trends & Achieving Real ROI’

A session delivered by Alan Macmillan, Head of Global Marketing at Firefly Learning

Wednesday 20th March, 11.45am – 12.15pm – Yas Marina Conference Centre Cafeteria

Have you ever asked the question ‘if you were to start again, what would your school’s marketing look like?’ Well, Alan Macmillan is going to ask this very question to try and help you establish what strategies work for your school and those ideas and strategies that need your attention. From the expert to the novice, there’s a take away here for everyone.

  1. BSME Annual Dinner

Wednesday 20th March, 18.30 - Stills, Crowne Plaza

A true highlight of every conference, why not use the time to network with fellow delegates and share experiences of what is working well at your school at the moment. You never know, a friendship may start from an initial conversation, a working relationship and partnership between schools or even new business opportunities that you did not think would be possible.

  1. ‘Building your Personal Brand’

A session delivered by Léonie Tovell, Managing Director of Blink

Thursday 21st March, 10.15am – 11.15am – Yas Marina Conference Centre Cafeteria

Léonie will be breaking the popular myth that image is only a ‘nice to have’ when it comes to creating your personal brand and managing your reputation. She will be showing you how to evolve your impact, as well as pinpoint the behaviours of socially aware professionals. When it comes to your school’s brand and reputation, this session is a must!

Don’t forget…

We’ll be based in the Exhibition Hall, Stand 35, so why not pop by to chat to us about the link between your MIS and how parents, students and prospective parents see your brand and image. How can our software help you with this? After all, the portal parents can view from home is the regular contact they have with your brand… Something to think about.
